YTL Luncheon with Karen L. Hawkins… Hot Topics from the OPR. The Director of the Office of Professional Responsibility, Karen L. Hawkins, will detail new developments and provide updates on OPR activity – a must for all tax practitioners!
Practice Tips and War Stories from Tax Court… A Tax Court Judge, his former clerk, and a private practice litigator, each who has unique Tax Court experience but a varying perspective will provide an “insider’s look” into the Tax Court and its procedures. In addition to entertaining “war stories,” the panel will provide the attendees with (i) information on how Judges, clerks, and private practitioners appearing in the Tax Court carry out their roles and duties; (ii) the Judge’s preference regarding trial preparation, issue development, stipulations, witness presentation, expert reports and witnesses, evidentiary disputes and pre-trial motions; (iii) recent significant opinions released by the Tax Court; and (iv) trends in docketed cases noticed by the Tax Court and those coming before the Tax Court.
